Should the government fund research into genetic engineering for disease prevention and treatment?

I think it would be interesting if the government funded that research but I'm more against people using that research to just be able to change things about their children so I think I lean more against it.

It depends on your definition of disease, and it should not affect how we care for those currently sick. If your definition includes innate mental disabilities, no.
